Maligne Lake

This picture is taken in the south end of the lake, past Spirit Island.
This part of the lake offers the most spectacular scenery.
Coronet Creek Campsite is at the far end here, tucked into a box shaped cove, under Monkhead
Mt. (3219 m/10535 ft).
This day started, at the campsite, with a pristine fog over the lake. There was a lone mule deer at the dock, beside
my overturned canoe. We quietly loaded the canoe, almost as if we were afraid to disturb the silence,
and started paddling home.
