About Me
Hello, Almost 35 years ago, I took my first holiday and drove from Edmonton to Vancouver. I quickly passed through the Rocky Mountains, in a hurry to see what was beyond. I do remember saying, "One day I would like to come back and hike up there." Much later, I learned the name of up there. It is called Parker Ridge, and it and the Columbia Icefield Area has become my favorite place to stretch and really feel like I'm in the best place in the whole world. I would like present to you, our great Canadian Rocky Mountains, through sharing my photos and experiences gathered over many years of holidays ¾ day hikes, canoeing and backpacking, right here, in my own backyard (well almost). These pictures were taken in our National Parks, where I met people, from around the world. I've enjoyed many short-term friendships, as we shared open campfires and told stories. For a few, it was my pleasure, to act as an informal guide to the wonders of our Canadian Rockies. I am not a mountain climber. Rock scrambling is about as serious as I will come to describing my adventures here. I was never in good physical condition at the start of my holidays. I learned early, that slow and steady can take you to wonderful places. And it's amazing what three or four weeks and a hundred kilometers or so, can do to add a little muscle tone. I hope you enjoyed your visit here. Your comments would be appreciated. I would like to know how you discovered my web site. I'd be glad to answer a question or two, if I can.
